Christmas, what a wonderful time when we remember the coming of our King, is just around the corner. It’s hard to believe the year is almost over and looking back I can recall many wonderful things that have occurred and the continued hand of God upon us as we work to honour Him.
You will recall we changed our financial period to a calendar year and therefore our normal reports have been delayed by 6 months. They will be available at the AGM, which is scheduled for 15 March 2007.
The development of holistic life changing projects in conjunction with other missionary organisations continues. ‘Hope Rwanda’ was a very successful missionary endeavour bringing together many organisations from around the world. 2007’s Annual Project for young people will continue this work in Rwanda as we raise the literacy level of children.
Alarming statistics on illiteracy and the decline in reading levels are driving us to find viable solutions for audio Scripture projects. The multiplicity of audio devices available provides a variety of ways with which we can respond to this need. This Christmas can I encourage you to consider the gift of a Bible, not only for your family and friends, but also for those who are unable to afford a copy of their own?
The staff of Bible Society joins me in wishing you a truly blessed, holy and safe Christmas as you gather with family and friends to share this season and to remember the great gift of Jesus.
